Digital Art is design class for students looking to build more art, design, and technology skills at all levels. In this class, students will be introduced to a professional-level graphic design platform called GIMP. Throughout the course, students will be introduced to a variety of fundamental graphic design concepts. Students will create projects specifically designed to prepare them for common applications in the design industry. They will gain a deeper understanding of how technology can be used as a form of artistic self-expression, as well as a tool to solve problems and convey a message. Students will explore new ways to use technology to create art, the benefits of digital art, and different careers paths in the graphic design field. They will finish the course with a broader view of the numerous paths a graphic designer can take and be much better equipped to determine their direction. Students in this class will work together to communicate information through digital art, build a professional portfolio, and walk with a deeper understanding of how to create graphic design for hire. This class is great for beginners, artists, designers, and all!
